so on my list of things to get i have added bed risers. these risers are very hard to come by. of course you can run into target and buy a $5 set of four risers, but with that price you get four flimsy plastic risers that barely have enough depth to place the bed frame corners on without worrying in the middle of the night if i am going to roll right out of my room through the window.
speaking my bed frame, that is another item i need to re-purchase. as of right now my mattress and box spring sit upon a ghetto-rigged bed frame thanks to mr.
when i bought the bed and the bed frame from mr.&mrs., the frame looked like a cinch to assemble. well, apparently i didn't knock on wood that the frames would not be a problem. last friday evening, i spent the entire night trying to figure how mr. even attempted to assemble the not so easy bed frame.
usually, the only hard part is getting the frame to not roll around when you are locking each of the ends together. from the previous assembly of this bed frame, it definitely made it way harder to assemble then it should have been. what i had to do to assemble and use the bedframe for right now was screw the two bolts, each on one side of the frame, through the holes of the metal bed frame. might i add, the holes in the frame were not from the manufacturer. the holes were from mr. drilling holes to make the bed frame hold together with bolts. needless to say, i sleep at a tilt because my bed does not fit within the uneven bed frame. also, whenever i go to lay on my bed, the entire bed and frame roll from here to there.
among the major needs to transform my room from the danger zone to a calm, tranquil place to lay my head, i have the following miscallaneous to-do's:
- assemble my "no tool needed" bookshelf..we will see how that goes considering it weighs 200 pounds
- organize my vanity that i got from jess the mess (my new found friend at work)
- hang pictures and decor on my barren walls so my room does not look like a jail cell... in the words of j to the j
- hook up my tv and dvd player (thanks to sherbear), which will sit on top of my new bookcase
even though this does not look like alot to do, knowing me it will take a lot of time to get 'er done.
before thanksgiving, my goal is to have my little humble abode organized and not hazardous to my sanity. cross your fingers, knock on wood, rub your lucky rabbit's foot and say a little pray for me that this will be possible!
