well you could say i have the blues this week due to the constant rain showers, but not really!
last weekend i trotted around the many festivals in chicago. i was able to meet up with bekahbee and ambam (a new girlfriend i met through bekahbee) at the 60th anniversary old town art fair. my purchase was the poster (umm totally awesome). i also inherited some new chi-town friends. i hope to see them soon! then saturday night mr.right and i threw together a dinner from my visit to the green city market that morning! to say the least, the green city market is out of this world. i picked up a quart of blood strawberries, bunch of asparagus, bag of mixed green salad and fresh cut flowers!
then on sunday, mr.right and i did our weekend walk, mainly because the weather was totally cooperating, sunshine and all. we weaved in and out of shop fronts until we met up with bekahbee and ambam to go listen to the blues fest in grant park. we all stood in line and purchased tickets. that is what you do at all of the big festivals in chicago when you want to purchase a beer or food. it is kind of like a state fair, except you are not winning them..you are forking out $8 for 12 tickets. note: a beer is 8 tickets, which equates to little over $5 for a beer...waa waa
we all got a beer and headed to one of the soundstages to listen to some great live blues. while we all sat on a trash bag that i conveniently had in my purse (don't ask because i honestly don't know why...) and hummed and hawed about how the weather could not be any better, we devised a plan to come bck and listen to the closing performance.
so that is exactly what we did. ambam, bekahbee and i all met up at mr.right's apt and headed to the blues fest once again! we came fully prepared. we all brought blankets, instead of my ratty trash bag, plus snacks and bevs!
we may have listened to the blues, but we were all in good spirits enjoying our summer in chicago!
