once the first storm died down, one of our managers told everyone that if you want to get home now, you better leave now. considering those words, i totally peaced out.
no one chimed in to let me know that the storm was rolling into the city, which was my route to home! so i basically was in the middle of a tornado that touched down right by mcwork! trees were falling, lightening was striking and rain was pouring down so hard you could say it was raining elephants!
me and fretta definitely fought the storm for as long as we could. after hearing on every radion station to seek shelter, we eventually pulled over at some podunk, midwestern redneck bar, ordered a budlight and waited out the storm.
everyone else had the same idea as me. so my commute home turned into a three hour drive due to the horrendous traffic.
thankfully, i got home safe and was pooped! but i had my guy by my side once i got back to the windy city! he always makes me feel safe and has mastered dealing with my dramatic, stressed out side.
nonetheless, fretta, me and my guy slept through the night with not a fear in sight.
here are some pictures by mcwork of the damage. no bueno!
