danyell out, dining room in

jtothej and i started the beginning of turning the apt into our very own! danyell (formerly, d-law) is moving out after a long year of law school and speakerphone (if you haven't heard this story, just comment)at the end of this month and we are moving in for real!

jtothej and i had a "lizzie-jenny weekend" this past weekend and picked out colors to repaint our apartment. which picked delicious plum for the living room, totally teal for the dining room, sangria for the kitchen. i decided to paint my room an autumn gold and jenny already painted her room a slate grey. we are going to put together a before and after book, which i hope to post a slideshow in a couple of weeks! i even purchased at roy's furniture in the L.P. a dining room table and four chairs on my own. this is a huge purchase for me. i mean seriously, it is a solid wood table with a leaf insert and four wooden club chairs made from a rich mahogany wood with an espresso stain. i also eyed a grey velvet-poly blend couch with a sleeper sofa, which i will more than likely be going back to purchase!!

funny story..
in celebration of our weekend and painting, jtothej and i decided to stay home and get as much painted. well since the only room that is touchable, due to our kitchen not cleaned and danyell in the dining room, we could only attempt to paint jtothej's room, my room and the living room. so we chose the living room. we ordered pizza and bought a case of budlight for out night in. we jammed out to bob marley and painted till i suggested we walk downstairs to the groggery below our apt and take a shot in celebration of our new apt! so jtothej and i threw on dresses, touched up our make-up and scrubbed the paint speckles off our hands and arms. skipping into the living room alerting jtothej we needed to head out the door, i could not find her. i guess the music was blaring, but when i turned the corner, out of nowhere danyell appeared. i let out the scream of a pre-pubescent boy in amidst the heart attack i almost suffered. after jtothej came gallivanting back to her room and saved me from my danyell debacle, we headed downstairs to glascotts. jtothej told me she was laughing so hard at my shocker, that she locked herself in the bathroom for two minutes to take control of her laughter.

the next morning, jtothej and i could tell where our painting was agreeing with our drinking. thank goodness the apt is a rental..
