last friday was my first visit to wrigley field! mrs.'s parents, momma liz and daddy kirk, were in town for the weekend. since mr. was not able to take part in the friday festivities, so guess who was invited.. wonderful windy city me!
after a beer at the goose island brewery, which by the way i am taking daddy-o to next time he is in town, we headed to the game. to make my first experience walking into historic wrigley field even more special, i got a cubs coffee-to-go mug! so awesome!
we were perched on the thrid base side in the upper balcony. i had a perfect view of all wrigley field and the lakeshore. we enjoyed beers, hotdogs and peanuts.
funny story...
mrs. and i went in doubles, as girls always do, to the bathroom, then decided to grab a beer for the group. when i went to buy my beer, the beer stand man would not accept my i.d. HELLO! I AM 23! and i basically said it like that to the beer stand man. i even walked him through my alabama driver's license. some people up north don't quite get it.. he firmly stated he could not accept my i.d. because "under 21 until 2007" was printed on the i.d. and NOONE at wrigley field should accept this form of i.d. i just laughed, went back to my seat and ordered a beer from the next beer walker man. booyah!
second funny story
for the seventh inning stretch, you would never believe who was there to sing "old ball game".. denise richards!! yeah she sounded like a total bimbo and was like "hey chicago! it feels so great to be back in my city!" i was like yeah yeah RIGHT! first you do not even live here now. second, your life is so lame denise that even your reality tv show "it's complicated" which is filmed in L.A. got cancelled. third, so the next best thing you can get paid for is to sing the seventh inning stretch at a cubs-marlins game on a friday afternoon..whatever to the maxx..
my first experience at wrigley was priceless! with my best friend enjoying the spring day fun in the sun, drinking a beer and eating a ball park dog!

Oh my gosh! I saw a video the other day of her singing at that very game...it sounded like cats dying.
