this morning, i parked in my usual parking spot and gathered my belongings for the work day. when i looked up, another employee was approaching my car, not in haste but in happiness. i opened my car door to greet him. with a smile and a jolly voice, he informed me that the wreath (yes, i have a wreath that hangs on roxy during the holiday season) on my car "made his day yesterday," and then he wished me "the merriest christmas."
his comment made my day. it is the little things that make the world a better place. even if people do not directly acknowledge your little doings, keep on doing what you do and being who you are.
my favorite quote from dr. suess states this perfectly...
"be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

- hey y'all! it's me, "the girl" from girl and the windy city. as y'all know, my partner-in-crime, my guy, and i were engaged last summer and now are gearing up for the big day. we want to reflect our windy city life through this sister blog! so as it goes, some might say, "southern meets the city." we would like to say, "bring it on!" this change did us good. not just changes in scenary, but changes in attitude and changes in latitude. we took the leap, moved to chicago and fell in love. that is what we have done. stuffed our cars, drove north and making chicago our own.
