since i have moved to chicago, i always get the same reaction, "what you have never had potbelly's?" i reply with the same response, "well no. should i?" so finally last thursday, i stopped for dinner, since i have not frequented any grocery stores upon my return to chi-town after thanksgiving.
when giving my order, i absolutely had to tell the cashier this was my first time to potbelly's sandwich works, and i may need some help. of course, she asked where i was from. totally use to this question by now. i ordered the turkey and swiss on wholewheat bread and the famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. (note: i am a big cookie fan.) i ordered it to go and rushed home to eat my new discovery.
one word describes this new hot spot restaurant. to-die-for. (see that is one word with hyphens.) so, on friday, i stopped again at potbelly's and ordered with much confidence the chicken salad sandwich on wholewheat with the sheila's dreambar. the sandwich was ok, but the sheila's dream was was yet again to-die-for. it was like a million of yummy ingredients all packed into one little square: caramel, fudge, chocolate chips, granola, and many more that i could not decipher.
my new favorite meal from potbelly's will more than likely be the turkey and swiss with onions, lettuce and italian seasoning on toasted wholewheat bread with a sheila's dream bar for dessert. i highly recommend this choice. you can't go wrong.
