as everyone at work knows and most of ya'll should know, my birthday is this friday! if i would have discovered the "birthday countdown" on blogger than everyone would know!
today, my mentor, jess, gave me the cutest vera bradley make-up pouch! i was in dire need of one, since my last make-up bag went kaput on me. it is perfect! she also gave me a funky, silver flower magnet with the quote "you are so special." that jess! she always picks out the perfect presents!
just a couple of minutes ago, the mcmailman for our building delivered a happy birthday surprise! it is a springtime bouquet from guess who...mr. right, mr. international! i could not ask for a more thoughtful boyfriend. being all the way in singapore, he finagled sending me a surprise for my birthday!
birthday week continues...sherbear and clarkie will be arriving tomorrow to spend my birthday weekend with me! i cannot stand the wait!
i am so blessed with the family and friends i have surrounding me each and every day!

- hey y'all! it's me, "the girl" from girl and the windy city. as y'all know, my partner-in-crime, my guy, and i were engaged last summer and now are gearing up for the big day. we want to reflect our windy city life through this sister blog! so as it goes, some might say, "southern meets the city." we would like to say, "bring it on!" this change did us good. not just changes in scenary, but changes in attitude and changes in latitude. we took the leap, moved to chicago and fell in love. that is what we have done. stuffed our cars, drove north and making chicago our own.
