last weekend, sherbear and clarkie paid me a visit to my windy city for my birthday weekend! after picking them up at the correct airport...yes, i went ot o'hare and they landed in midway...my mcwork had a "meet and greet the bernies" and i took them on a tour of the mccampus.
our weekend was filled with my chicago. we enjoyed a variety of chicago eateries from hotdogs to weinerschnitzel to italian. we were fortunate enough to have a clear day on friday to toast our glasses on the 96th floor of the hancock building. that night we celebrated at the infamous german restaurant/bar, chicago brauhaus, where we ate pretzels and german food and drank out of das boot! sherbear even got me a tray of white-iced cupcakes and daddy bought a boot for the bar at camp bernie.
sherbear and clarkie were also able to hang out with all of my wonderful windy city buddies that were in attendance to celebrate me! i had an out of control wonderful time with all of my new found city friends and parents. this birthday definitely ranks with my birthday cruise and surprise birthday.
i am so thankful for everyone else who either called, texted or facebooked me on my special day! and a shout-out to clarkie and sherbear for the pearl drop necklace and earrings, nina for the birthday money, little sis for the bagel chips and homemade card, mama hill for the cookbook, mr. & mrs. for the wine and jewelry, bekah boo for the spa gift, and katers, the moreans, mr.right, lala for the birthday cards!
everyone truly made this birthday a dream come true. there is nothing better than good friends and good times. i am truly blessed to have family and friends who think the same way!
