The title of this restaurant positions it perf. Northpond is located between diversy and fullerton off stockton. It is a little frank lloyd wright bungalow house turned restaurant. The service is rated number one in the city and the atmosphere is home away from home dining.
Our waitress, mrs.cuckoo, was a little odd but knew her northpond. They even print their menus daily with the seasonal meals straight from the chef's liking for the night. On mr.right and my menus, mrs.cuckoo had "happy birthday liz" printed at the top. So personable. So me.
We enjoyed sauteed squid and planko quial as our apps then indulged into fresh seared duck and grilled swordfish. At the end of our meal, we treated ourselved to banana chocolate pie and northpond plated a mango sorbet and grahm cracker dessert with "happy birthday liz" etched in chocolate on the rim of the tray. So thoughtful. So me.
After great conversation and food fit for a king, three hours had passed.
The bday surprises have officially lengthened my birthday into an official bday month. No objections here! Keep 'em coming!
Nonetheless, another perfect night with mr.right..

- hey y'all! it's me, "the girl" from girl and the windy city. as y'all know, my partner-in-crime, my guy, and i were engaged last summer and now are gearing up for the big day. we want to reflect our windy city life through this sister blog! so as it goes, some might say, "southern meets the city." we would like to say, "bring it on!" this change did us good. not just changes in scenary, but changes in attitude and changes in latitude. we took the leap, moved to chicago and fell in love. that is what we have done. stuffed our cars, drove north and making chicago our own.
