it's begining to look a lot like christmas year round

from the looks of it, j to the j and my apartment will look like christmas until december 25, 2009. we took down our tree on sunday. it was brittle and BIG! we had to squeeze the sucker through multiple doorways and down the back stairs of the apt. by the time we got the motherload down to the dumpster, half of the tree was bare while the other half still had some greenery amongst its branches.

making th trek back up the stairs and into the apt, j to the j and i followed a trail of what i like to call "christmas" all the way back to its previous resting place by the bay window. i do not mean a trail of one or two pine needles, but handfuls and handfuls of pine needles. i winced at the thought of cleaning the mess up, but j to the j, who was trained quite well by the pegster, got to work immediately. she sent me downstairs to fetch a broom and dustpan. while j to the j swept, i collected the needles in the dustpan. as a final sweep, j to the j vacuumed up the extras.

funny thing is all of those pine needles were springing everywhere throughout the apt. so i am pretty sure traces of "christmas" will be found throughout the apt by the time we move out.

i look forward to that day, only to recall another great memory in the life of me, the girl and the windy city...
