today, marks day one. i am now in my new cubicle, or as i like to say "my new home." cubicle is too sterile for me. everything and i mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G has been moved to my new home and placed in their designated drawers and files. i have t-pinned all my documents to my privacy walls and displayed all of my pictures and quotes that i have collected since starting eight months ago at my mccompany.
now before i jump ahead of myself, i must say one very important necessity is missing from "my new home." probably the most important necessity next to my laptop. my telephone! even though my phone is sitting right next to my laptop in arm's reach, there is no connection to the outside world, much less my coworker next door.
now i play the waiting game. i have a service ticket for the phone man to come and reconnect my phone.

- hey y'all! it's me, "the girl" from girl and the windy city. as y'all know, my partner-in-crime, my guy, and i were engaged last summer and now are gearing up for the big day. we want to reflect our windy city life through this sister blog! so as it goes, some might say, "southern meets the city." we would like to say, "bring it on!" this change did us good. not just changes in scenary, but changes in attitude and changes in latitude. we took the leap, moved to chicago and fell in love. that is what we have done. stuffed our cars, drove north and making chicago our own.
