no, i am not doing my own rendition of beyonce knowles "survivor," but i am celebrating today for surviving the tenth coldest january in chicago history.
with today being groundhog day and punxsutawney phil seeing his shadow, results in six more weeks of winter. since i endured one of the coldest winter's in the windy city, what's six more weeks?

- hey y'all! it's me, "the girl" from girl and the windy city. as y'all know, my partner-in-crime, my guy, and i were engaged last summer and now are gearing up for the big day. we want to reflect our windy city life through this sister blog! so as it goes, some might say, "southern meets the city." we would like to say, "bring it on!" this change did us good. not just changes in scenary, but changes in attitude and changes in latitude. we took the leap, moved to chicago and fell in love. that is what we have done. stuffed our cars, drove north and making chicago our own.
